The 23-year-old played third grade for Robb and head of college Jamie Moore said the awarding of the shield will be a fitting way to remember Wiggins.
“It is going to be awarded after the third grade game every year at parents’ weekend,” he said.
“It is going to be a perpetual trophy and it will be awarded to the player that exhibits the greatest spirit of rugby because that just reflects who Jordy was.
“Jordy just epitomised what rugby is and that is a game for everyone and about community, camaraderie and teamwork.
“He just embodied it. He was not just a loss to our rugby team, he was a loss to our community.
“It will be a big event from the perspective that it is an opportunity for us to not forget what he gave to the club and what he gave to the community.”
The third grade game commences at 12pm at Armidale’s Bellevue Oval with the trophy presented at the conclusion of the game.
Women’s sevens, second and first grade will be played after.
