THOUSANDS of Tamworth residents turned out in force to cheer on our veterans and service men and women on Wednesday.
It was a large affair, and for the first time, as a special tribute serving and ex serving women led the march and were greeted with cheers and applause from the crowd.
Families lined the streets of the city’s CBD, as veterans rode through the city’s streets in jeeps and were cheered on, as school children marched along behind them.
The sounds of the Tamworth Pipe Band rang through the city’s streets as the procession made its way to the Tamworth Town Hall for the official Anzac Day Dawn Service.
