A CROWD of thousands turned out to Anzac Park on Wednesday for the 2018 Tamworth Dawn Service.
Armed with winter woolies, beanies and coats, the early morning service saw families with young children, school children, veterans and the serving bow their heads in a moment of silence in what would be the start of a day of Anzac activities.
Veterans placed their hands on their hearts and remembered their fallen colleagues.
As the sound of bag pipes rang through Brisbane Street, it was touching to see the raw emotion on the faces of many who had been impacted by military service.
Tamworth RSL president Bob Chapman paid tribute to serving and ex-serving women who will lead the city’s Anzac March from 10am.
