This was the day that Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, also known as the “Million Dollar Quartet” got together in a tiny studio and along with Sam Philips, changed music forever. 

The show is presented in two parts, featuring all the hits that capture the imagination, the passion and the phenomenon of this incredible era of music with authenticity and dedication. 

Starring Bill Culp as Carl Perkins, Joe Passion as Jerry Lee Lewis, Gino Monopoli as Elvis Presley and Roy LeBlanc as The Man in Black, Johnny Cash, The Sun Records Allstars is in its fourth tour of Australia. You can catch it at Capitol Theatre on April 5 at 8pm.

Jessica Swale’s Nell Gwynn is set to take the stage at Capitol Theatre  from March 16 to March 24 as the Australian premiere. 

Presented by Tamworth Dramatic Society and set in London 1660, it tells a theatrical tale of when the drab, grey Puritans had gone and theatre was all the rage once more.

There is a new fad for putting a woman, an “actor-ess”, on the stage and when The King's Company at Drury Lane casts the pretty, witty orange seller Nell Gwynn as its first leading lady, its royal patron, Charles II, is immediately smitten. 

Winner of the 2016 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, this brilliant and bodacious new work about theatre's most legendary love affair is a love-letter to theatre itself and the cheerful chaos involved in putting on a production.

This “made in Tamworth” production is sure to be a radiantly comical, rollicking night in the theatre.

Directed by Daniel Gillett and featuring Jessi Le Brocq as Nell Gwynn, this celebration of history and heart boasts a cast of 20 local and very talented actors, a band on stage and a dog.
