CHRISTMAS and Coke, with a side of cheer.

The beverage giant joined forces with the Salvation Army, and the country music capital was the first regional stop on the list.
The Coke Christmas Truck and its helpers made a special delivery on Saturday in Tamworth where it revealed a newly refurbished Salvation Army community hall complete with new stage, lighting, sound equipment and brass instruments.

Tamworth Salvation Army Corps Officer Dean Clutterbuck said: “We are thrilled to be a part of this tour and especially here in Tamworth to be the first town in Australia to experience it.
“From when we first started speaking with Coca-Cola they’ve been focused on working with us to give something that would really benefit the community, something to bring some extra cheer not only for this Christmas but for many years to come.”
Coca-Cola Australia Marketing Director, Lisa Winn said: “This is a facility for the whole town to use – for community and school performances, concerts, dances, and community gatherings – we hope it leaves a legacy of many happy moments for the community to come together for years to come.
“As we continue on our Coke Christmas Truck Tour with The Salvation Army, we’re delighted to be helping local communities in ways that make a lasting difference.
“It really does feel good to give back in some small way in the communities we operate.”
The special performance followed the very first stop on the tour last Friday Tamworth’s Golden Guitar when the iconic 20-metre long, brightly lit Coca-Cola Christmas Truck spread some festive cheer for the community.
The community came out to get into the Christmas spirit, check out the truck’s flashing festive lights and sleigh bell sounds and enjoy a free Coke No Sugar.
The facility’s facelift was revealed on Saturday evening, with the Salvation Army Tamworth team inviting people who they have helped this year to a special event.

Australian singer and actor, Samantha Jade and local talent Scotty Munday performed for guests, with numbers including All I Want for Christmas Is You and a medley of Samantha’s hits Look What You’ve Done and Up.
Scotty Munday will also travel to Sydney in December where he will perform at one of the nation’s most-loved Christmas events, the Woolworths Carols in the Domain, ahead of the main concert.
Globally, the Coca-Cola Christmas trucks have become festive icons since they first launched in the late 90s with the much-loved, 'Holidays Are Coming' TV campaign and the brightly-lit trucks, however this is the first time a truck has toured here in Australia.
