Murphy will have his name in the Mungindi Golf Course’s record books for the second time after a dream shot on hole 18 during last Sunday’s Red’s Quality Meats Golf Day.
“Shane’s hit it straight, the ball bounced twice, rolled on and dropped in; it was unbelievable,” golf day organiser, Garry ‘Red’ Trindall said.
“It’s unreal, especially with the sand greens out here. It just rolled straight in, it was magical.”
Red and Rodney Barwick were the winners of the annual two-person ambrose event on Sunday, however Red decided to donate his winning $100 voucher to Murphy instead.
This was Murphy’s second hole-in-one at the Mungindi Golf Course, after scoring one on the 3rd hole 26 years ago.
The last person to get a hole-in-one on the Mungindi Golf Course was David Smith about 13 years ago.
