The Northern Daily Leader (NDL) has a new editor but the more things change, the more they stay the same.
It seems that paper has an agenda to promote Tony Windsor ad nauseam whenever, wherever.
Enter Dick Smith vowing to back Windsor if our member and Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce doesn’t act in accordance with what “King Dick” dictates!
The NDL page 1 shirt-front shot of Smith warning “I’ll support Windsor”, clearly shows their game plan for team Windsor.
One must ask what Smith and Windsor have in common!
a) Well they are both multi-millionaires – Windsor from the sale of his “beloved farm” adjacent to the Liverpool Plains to a mining giant.
b) They both have ongoing hatred of the National Party.
c) Their love of being in the spotlight and centre stage.
Enter well-known identity to the scrum of Team Windsor: Tim Duddy, a well-heeled farmer who ticks all the boxes from his farm near the Liverpool Plains.
The criticism of Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and his warm-and-fuzzy mention of the NBN rollout, an item held out for by independents Windsor and Rob Oakeshott in 2010, who held this nation to ransom while they played their power play, all beggars belief.
Come on NDL, please lead the way with responsible, accurate, unbiased, factual and disciplined journalism.
In reply to Mr Scott:
It is certainly not The Northern Daily Leader’s ‘agenda’ to promote one ‘team’ or individual over another in this race for New England. When a story presents itself, we seek out opinions from all sides and present them to the people to ultimately make a choice. As the date for the election draws ever nearer (though not near enough for some) we do and will make a conscious effort to make sure our stories are factual, fair and balanced.
