Both candidates - Queensland senator Barnaby Joyce and agricultural software developer David Gregory - will attend the preselectionmeeting, held in West Tamworth Leagues Club's Blazes room.
Registration for voters will be open from 10.30am and the meeting will start at 11am.
Both candidates have been invited to address the audience for 10 minutes and take 10 minutes of questions. Following the question and answer, eligible people in the room will vote in a secret ballot.
The Nationals' Federal Electorate Council chairman Greg Kachel said all Nationals branches in the New England area would be represented.
"In August last year, when Richard Torbay was preselected, there were 105 voters," Mr Kachel said.
"I would expect at lest 100, maybe up to 150, voters there. Voters must be financial members and a member of the National Party continuously for the past six months to be eligible to vote."
