A MAN has been remanded in custody over an alleged assault on a police officer at a Glen Innes hotel.

Police were called to the hotel, on Grey St, about 11.30pm Friday, after they received reports a man had refused to leave.
Officers were told a man had assaulted an employee who was attempting to remove him.
When police approached the man he allegedly assaulted one officer before trying to assault another.
The man allegedly continued to push and threaten the senior constables who then sprayed him with OC spray.
Police said the spray had no effect and the man was subsequently tasered.
The 34-year-old man was arrested and taken to Glen Innes Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assaulting a police office, common assault, failing to leave a licensed premises and harassing a police officer.
He was refused bail to appear in Glen Innes Local Court on January 15.
