Police investigate midnight armed robbery in Mungindi

THREE people are wanted by police after committing an armed holdup at a residence attached to a bank and post office at Mungindi early yesterday morning.

The four residents of the home and business in Walker St were woken at midnight by three intruders, two with firearms.

They stole a sum of cash and the keys to a Mitsubishi Magna belonging to the victims which they used to leave the premises, after leaving another stolen vehicle outside the business.

Forensic police examined the scene yesterday and detectives from Barwon Local Area Command are investigating the incident.

The stolen Magna was later found burnt out on the Collarenebri Rd, 50km south of Mungindi. 

Investigators are calling for witnesses who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who knows the offenders to contact police or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
