YOU would have been barking mad to not get along to the Nundle Dog Race on Sunday, with the event bringing in thousands of people and raising good money for Nundle Public School.

For every person there was a furry friend or two to accompany them, with some competing and others just brought along to add to the fun of the day.
Weather may have threatened the day's success earlier in the week, but it turned out to be a fantastic outing according to Nundle Public School principal Stephen Gadd
"The day was a brilliant day, we were a little bit worried by the weather on Saturday, and then we were treated to an absolutely glorious day," he said.

"The turnout was another strong turnout with lots of people coming from all over the area to participate, and feedback has been really positive."
Around 2000 made their way through the gates, and there were plenty of willing helpers to make the day run smoothly.
"It's a great day for the community, it's a positive day and it's a really nice thing to have the whole community get behind," Mr Gadd said.
"We had a wonderful turnout of volunteers and we're just super lucky to be so well supported in this area."
