President of the North Tamworth Bowling Club, Harry Wicks, described the new green as "exceptional".

"We'd like to invite people in the Tamworth area to come and try the green if they'd like, they're more than welcome."
The new surface is made of synthetic grass, which will significantly reduce both the cost and time required for maintenance, as opposed to the traditional grass-based greens which were subject to weather conditions and the availability of greenskeepers.
The upgrade was made possible by a grant of $100,000 from the NSW Government's Infrastructure Grants Program.
CEO of the Tamworth Services Group, Kristian Brooks, said the installation of the new green has been a "long, drawn out saga" due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"It's taken us about two years to get this completed and it's part of our plan at North Tamworth to make this a bigger and better venue, and make it something the town can be proud of," Brooks said.
"This is step one, you'll see in the next few months it'll move to stage two and then it'll be a complete complex for the community to enjoy."
Brooks thanked Anderson and the state government for the funding, before the latter spoke about what impact he believes the new surface will have for the club.
"To be here today at the Servies at North Tamworth to see the difference that this green makes," Anderson said.
"This is the way of the future when it comes to bowling clubs and what they do, and you see these surfaces popping up all over the place."
