And while a shoulder injury means he will miss the Greater Northern Tigers' semi-final clash against the Northern Rivers Titans at Grafton on Sunday, the forward hopes the Tigers advance to the final and he returns to the side.
That would provide the Gunnedah Bulldog with the opportunity he has craved: the chance to impress NRL clubs and reignite his NRL dream.

Positioning himself to do that was a major motivating factor behind the 23-year-old working hard in the off-season in order to be fit for the Country Championships.
He spent several years in the Knights' youth system, and last played for the club in 2016.
Edmonds featured in the Tigers' opening two matches, before injuring his clavicle in Gunnedah's trial against Singleton this month.
"This year I wanted to get into that rep side [the Tigers] to try and get my name out there again," he said. "But, obviously, getting this little niggly injury has set that back again.
"But we'll have another crack next year, and probably go from there - just slowly trying to get my name back out there."
That being said, Edmonds said he "would like to think" he would be selected if he was fit and the Tigers advanced to the final.
He scored a try playing second-row in Greater Northern's round one defeat of the Knights, before playing prop in a round two loss to the Western Rams.
As for the upcoming Group 4 season, Edmonds said the Bulldogs had a young side after the loss of several experienced players.
He said "everyone seems to be real keen and chomping at the bit".
"Coming away from the [Singleton] trial, all good things at the moment," the mine operator said of Gunnedah.
The side's 2022 campaign commences against Werris Creek at Kitchener Park on April 9.
