Former local, Italian trained gelato university graduate, and Spilt Milk owner Andrew Hamilton said he was excited to give his home town a taste of his premium product.
"We just want to bring a really good quality product to the regional area, I'm very passionate about the regions," he said.
No stranger to the task, Mr Hamilton previously owned Tamworth's Eagle Boys Pizza and Hog's Breath Cafe.
"Coming back to Tamworth is very special to me, my family are here, Tamworth's been exceptionally good to me and my other businesses I've had in town," he said.

Tuesday will mark the third store with the gelato bar already a success in Orange and Canberra.
From Peel Valley Milk to the honeycomb and brownies on top, Mr Hamilton said it was his top priority to make sure everything was fresh.
"Wherever possible we source all the produce locally," he said.
"All the ingredients are super important to us and the end result speaks for itself."
Also an ex-Tamworth girl, store manager Natalie Zimmerman said the gelato bar prioritises employing young locals and has a team of around 20 youths eager to get scooping.
"Young people are vibrant, exciting and enthusiastic," she said.
The gelato will be made fresh and on site daily, with a menu of both staple and seasonal flavours on offer.
Catering to everyone, sorbet and allergy friendly options will also be available.
While many will be spoilt for choice, Mr Hamilton said it was hard to go past the salted caramel gelato.
Located at 1/459 Peel Street Spilt Milk will open for takeaway and pickups via their app, with home delivery expected to launch in February.
Mr Hamilton is also in the process of getting his drone license and is anticipating drone delivery in 2022.
