Blake Stanton, 19, is behind bars and did not appear in Tamworth Local Court earlier this month.
His Aboriginal Legal Service defence solicitor Joseph Healy asked for a short adjournment after progress was made in the case.
"I understand it's resolved," Mr Healy told the court.
He asked magistrate Julie Soars for just a couple of days to finalise the matters.
She ultimately said she had to delay the case by two weeks after realising how booked up the court list was with other matters and it wouldn't be "sensible".
"It might be the straw that broke the camel's back," she told the court.

The case will go back to Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday, the next date that the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) attends.
Stanton made no application for release and Ms Soars formally refused him bail.
He faces a string of property crime allegations, including aggravated break and enter in company, three counts of driving a car without consent and destroying property with fire.
Court documents show some charges have been listed as related by the DPP.
Stanton has not yet entered pleas.
He was arrested by Operation Southbreak police earlier this year and is accused of stealing a car during a break-in at Hillvue last year.
Police claim the car was later found abandoned and burnt out.
Oxley police officers launched Operation Southbreak in 2018 in an effort to target high levels of property crime in South and West Tamworth.
