A mass hub at the Tamworth Sports Dome on Sunday will see up to 1000 people get their first or second dose of AstraZeneca, in the biggest push for the city to get vaccinated yet.
In Armidale on Saturday, a second walk-up hub run at the UNE Medical Centre will see hundreds roll up their sleeve to receive their first or second AstraZeneca jab.
While that clinic will primarily be administering second doses, organisers say anyone can turn up without an appointment and receive their first jab too.
Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson made a final plea on Friday for residents to roll up to the dome as the region inches closer to the 70 per cent vaccination target.
"Tamworth currently sits at about 65 per cent first dose and 34 per cent second dose," he said.
"In the future, businesses will only allow people who are double vaccinated to enter their premises.
"That's what the future will look like - so the nudge is there to get vaccinated. It doesn't matter which one you chose, but get it done as soon as possible."
UNE Medical Centre staff and local GPs will be administering the vaccine at both hubs.
Tamworth and Armidale councils will be undertaking support roles in administration, marshalling and traffic management. Police will also be on hand.
Locals should bring a medicare card, if they have one.
Free transport from Coledale and Oxley Vale through Tamworth Buslines and Hannafords Coaches will be available on the day.
