Like most recent games between these teams, it was tight early on.
The Swans held a slender five-point lead into the first break before the Kangaroos bounced back.
The Roos held the Swans to zero points in the second quarter to go up 2.2 (14) to 2.0 (12) at half-time.
However, the Swans upped their defensive efforts in the second half to keep the Roos to the solitary point in the last two quarters.
Meanwhile, the Swans kicked three second half goals to claim a 5.4 (34) to 2.3 (15) win.
Staci Goddard was adjudged best on ground for the Kangaroos and kicked a goal alongside Melanie Young.
For the Swans, Daisy George was named her side's best while Erin Allan bagged herself three goals.
The two teams will meet again this weekend in Tamworth in the minor semi-final.
The major semi-final will see Gunnedah host Inverell for a spot in the grand final.
