Outlook Estate is under construction and would essentially be cut in half by the current boundaries, which the council believes would have caused headaches.
"It was to avoid any sort of confusion once all those houses start being built for the ambulances, police and emergency services," said TRC development manager Sam Lobsey.
"It was important to ensure there was a consistent suburb name for the Outlook."
The decision will be made at Tuesday night's council meeting, but it isn't expected to be met with any resistance.
Mr Lobsey said no other residents would be impacted as the boundary would only be altered to wrap around the new estate.

The change would also clear up confusion when TRC submits new road name applications in the future.
"Anyone going out to Calala Lane wouldn't expect to be going to a South Tamworth residence," Mr Lobsey said.
"We knew that it did have to occur at some point with the developments that are occurring, the next stages are likely to come online very soon.
"So we're just getting ahead of ourselves a little bit, just to make sure when we go to do new road naming applications we can have that new boundary line fixed."
