While inflows were down from the day before in the 24 hours leading up to 9am on Monday, the figure still sat at 455 megalitres, indicating the dam could soon reach 80 per cent.
The dam, which is Tamworth's main water source, has not sat above 80 per cent since early 2018, dropping as low as just 14 per cent last year following a long drought.
More rain is expected this Friday, with between 4 to 10mm predicted to fall by the Bureau of Meteorology.
Meanwhile, the Peel River is raging, so much so a minor flood warning was even issued at Tamworth on Saturday night - although it never eventuated.

It peaked at 2.56 metres on Friday night after more than 20mm fell throughout the day.
As at 11am on Monday, the river height at Tamworth Road Bridge was 0.74, and falling.
Current conditions are a far cry from just August last year, when Level 5 water restrictions were in place.
