The event is making a return this Easter weekend after COVID led to last year's event being cancelled. The cloud of the pandemic was hanging over this year's event too, but the announcement on Thursday that the Brisbane lockdown was being lifted has ensured the full compliment of Queenslanders will be able to compete.
The news came much to the relief of organisers after the annual Manilla XC camp, which is one of their biggest events of the year, was grounded earlier in the year.

A full field of 200 pilots from across the country will launch off Manilla's Mt Borah on Good Friday, with the competition continuing through to Sunday.
Regarded as one of the largest paragliding events in the world, the competition is aimed at novice pilots with experienced team leaders coaching them along to fly as many kilometres as possible.
Queensland hold the bragging rights after ending NSW's two-year reign two years ago.
Teams from the ACT and the "World Barbarians" will also compete.
Pilots should enjoy good flying conditions with the weather forecast fine all weekend.
Spectators are welcome.
