The Taylors joined together at Nundle Town Hall over the weekend, where they met relatives they never knew were theirs.
About 75 members of the family attended the "unbelievably successful" event, organiser Robert Taylor said.
"All of our memorabilia was first class, the people had a wonderful time, and we mixed them up so they weren't with their own people for lunch but they were with them later," he said.
"After lunch we had a couple of speeches and everybody either sat around with the existing people or moved to their own family areas and had photos of all the different family groups."

They also enjoyed a 40-minute tour of the highlights of Nundle by local operator Harry Wiggan.
Lunch was catered for by the local CWA and Lions Club. Guests were spoilt for choice and were bursting at the seams by the end of the day, Mr Taylor told the Leader.
"It was the first event that the caterers had done in the new Nundle hall kitchen," he said.
"There was a choice of either steak and salad, chicken and veg, or quiche and salad. There was also sweets and afternoon tea with slices and all sorts of mixed cakes.
"The food and quality of the CWA and Lions, their ability to serve, it was all spot on and the timing was perfect. Everyone said 'we couldn't eat it all'."
He said with so many travellers from out of town, it was a great economy boost for the town.
They may also return annually, too.
"The last Saturday of march, if anyone is interested, come to Nundle and we might have something at the pub," Mr Taylor said.
He's hoping a Facebook page might be set up so all members of the family can keep in touch.
