A REPORTED child approach which occurred in Gunnedah on Sunday afternoon has led police to call for information which may assist with the investigation.

The incident happened at approximately 3pm on Sunday, March 21 at the intersection of Scobie and Wentworth streets.
Two boys, aged 7 and 10, were riding their scooters when they were approached by an unknown man in a car.
He requested the older boy get in the car with him, and then grabbed him on the arm when the boy refused.
The children ran to a nearby family member's house and the incident was then reported to officers from the Oxley Police District.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of an obese build, aged in his 30s, with a tanned complexion, dark brown or black hair and a short beard.
He was believed to be driving a blue or purple-coloured vehicle with four doors, last seen travelling south on Carroll Street.
