The 45-space Kable Avenue carpark on the northern side is mostly used by Tamworth Regional Council's (TRC) staff, fleet and space for five visitors.
It's closest to Fitzroy Avenue, and TRC corporate and governance director Chris Weber said paperwork is underway.
"The EOI will detail issues interested parties are required to address including aligning with the principles of the council's Blueprint 100 strategy in regard to inner city living," he said.

"The EOI will be advertised generally in the community and be open to any person to submit a proposal to acquire the land."
The council also sold its Dowe Street public carpark in February last year.
