Flood activity is likely to escalate in the coming days, with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing minor to major flood warnings for the Gwydir and Mehi Rivers on Thursday.
An SES spokesperson said a man was traveling by motorcycle on the Newell Highway near Bellata when he was swept from his vehicle at about 5.30am on Thursday.
He was carried downstream by floodwaters before being rescued by SES about 7.30am, the spokesperson said.
Later the same day flash flooding threatened a home in Terry Hie Hie, near Moree.
Two people were left stranded in the house by the rising waters at about 3pm Thursday afternoon.
Volunteers from both Moree and Bingara SES rushed to their aid.
SES considered using a rescue helicopter stationed in Moree for assistance, but floodwaters had subsided to a level where the two SES crews could pass by the time they arrived at the scene.
The duo were taken to the Moree Community Services Building by about 3.35pm, a spokesperson said.
Flood activity is expected to continue in the next few days after continued rainfall on Thursday.
