Last month we were delighted to be featured on ABC TV's national arts program, The Mix.
The story featured local artist Rowen Matthews and his exhibition Land is Emotional, and highlights our efforts in supporting the community despite forced closures due to the pandemic.
As part of these efforts, we developed an online exhibition tool (now available on our website) and delivered a virtual painting workshop en plein air (outdoors) using Zoom software.

Participants came from across the Tamworth region, as well as from Armidale, Gunnedah, Corlette and Newcastle. You can view the story on ABC iView now.
With the virtual painting workshops run so far proving to be a success, we'll be delivering more over the coming months, including an Online Plein Air Painting Workshop with Michelle Hungerford.
Michelle's recent exhibition The Change was on display at NERAM from March to June, 2020.
Using Zoom software, this workshop will connect participants painting in their own backyard with Michelle who will be painting outside her studio in Daruka across two sessions; 10am-12noon for children aged 10-17 years and 1.30pm-3.30pm for adults.
The event is supported by Tamworth Regional Landcare Association and continues the gallery's partnership with this dedicated local environmental group.
It aims to highlight the amazing work Landcare does in our region and celebrates the connectedness of creative expression and the environment.
With school holidays just around the corner again, we've also got some great online school holiday workshops on offer for school-aged children, including decorating your own porcelain vessel *Wednesday 8 July) and decorating a wind chime (Wednesday 15 July).
These will be delivered over one hour with Education Officer, Kate Armstrong via Zoom at a cost of $10 (including all class materials which can be collected; delivery available to select areas).
