Instead, school students are taking to the internet to spead the message tomorrow.
The movement, which was inspired by Swedish student Greta Thunberg, planned to hold their largest yet on May 15. But COVID-19 has rendered physical rallies unsafe.
Tamworth-based Reverend Simon Hansford encouraged community members to join a livestream instead.
He said the movement is important to prevent the COVID-19 crisis distracting from the longer-term threat of climate change.
"Perhaps one of the best paths to recovery for the economy and the community, we'll be looking at some serious green options in how we might act in that community space," he said.
"Rather than going back to the way things were but doing new things.
"The coronavirus situation has shown us - the whole world, but certainly Australia - that we can adapt quickly if needs be, when the occasion demands."

Rev. Hansford, who is the Moderator of the Uniting Church Synod of NSW and ACT, said we could be doing more in Tamworth to mitigate carbon emissions, he said.
"We could be doing far more in terms of housing development in town in terms of sensible environmental sustainability of buildings. That clearly isn't happening in parts of town.
"There has been action, but not a great deal.
"There can be attention paid to how we engage with the mining industry in the region around us."
Tamworth students were among an estimated 40,000 around Australia who participated in a strike in March last year.
Yet more took to the streets in larger rallies in September calling for a rapid transition to a carbon neutral economy, powered by renewable energy.
Rev. Hansford also said the community could consider developing its own version of the Manilla community-owned solar power scheme. Students can join a national broadcast at 4pm or join Armidale's Strike for Climate at 1pm.
