The chopper was deployed just after 7:30am to respond to reports of a serious single vehicle crash on the New England Highway, about 15km north of Glen Innes.
The helicopter's critical care team worked with paramedics to treat a 54-year-old woman who had been ejected from the vehicle and seriously hurt.

The woman suffered multiple injuries, including to her pelvis, and cuts on her head and arms.
Multiple ambulance crews were at the scene of the crash and the helicopter's medical team worked to stabilise the woman for transport.
The Westpac helicopter flew her to Lismore hospital for further treatment.
It is understood she was in a stable condition.
The New England Highway has reopened in both directions.

THE New England Highway has reopened after a woman was injured in a car crash on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were alerted to reports of a rollover on the highway, about 15km north of Glen Innes, just after 7.15am.
Ambulance NSW deployed multiple units to the crash scene with reports of one patient being seriously injured.
A 54-year-old woman was treated by paramedics at the scene for injuries to her pelvis and cuts to her head and arms.
She was transported by ambulance to the nearest airport, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been deployed to airlift the woman to hospital.
Ambulance NSW said it is believed the woman was in a stable condition.
The New England Highway has since been opened in both directions, according to Live Traffic NSW, but motorists in the area are urged to reduce speed and exercise caution.
Emergency services and traffic crews are still on site, about 1km north of Yarraford Road on the new England Highway.
Investigations are continuing.
