Armidale was set to hold the markets on Friday night at the jockey club, featuring food trucks, live music, jumping castles and other entertainment. Gunnedah's event was set to kick off on Saturday night at the showgrounds.
Both the Gunnedah and Armidale markets have been cancelled as a result of the horrific accident.
Ms Demasi said she was very disappointed as a large amount of "effort, money and time had been put in".
"I've been planning this since February," she said.
