This week we brought you six tales that might not normally make it to the front page - let alone into the newspaper at all.
The hopeful, the helpful and the heartwarming - today draws to a close our brief special campaign we called Good News Week.
Let's face it, the big news - the incidents and announcements that rock people's lives - is often bad news.
And in recent months our region has had more than its fair share of that.
A drought that has been dragging on without even a hint of respite for months and months and months.
The spectre of severe water restrictions in various towns and villages leading residents ever closer to their day zero.
The heavy matters being dealt with in our courts, which seem to be going through a peak time just recently: tales of alleged murders, drug crimes and serious assaults.
But this week, with your help, we've turned the spotlight on the good in our society that can always be found if you're prepared to be attuned to it.
Two couples celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary; a woman receiving a letter from the Queen 65 years after meeting her; Lions recycling glasses for the needy; girls and women gaining access to a new vending machine of sanitary items; two unlikely friends teaming up to do some greening up; and coastal Girl Guides giving their drought-affected peers a hand.
The stories are all quite different but have some common themes. Many feature people selflessly serving others, and some speak of celebrating life's small wins.
But we think all of them share something special: they're all about people making good news happen.
Whether it's a volunteer group's activities or a long-lasting marriage, or whether someone has taken it on themselves to do a nice turn for another, none of this good news is about anything as random as winning the lottery.
It's about deliberate, memorable and sometimes life-changing acts of kindness, commitment and caring that we all have the ability to do.
And while we can't promise it will make the front page, it could very well make someone's week their Good News Week.
