A TRUCK driver has walked away unscathed after his stock carrier crashed near Tamworth on Monday afternoon.

The empty semi-trailer was travelling along Appleby Lane when it lost control, left the road and hit an embankment, crashing through a fence.
Police and the Rural Fire Service (RFS) rushed to the scene, which blocked the road, shortly after 2pm.
Ambulance NSW confirmed paramedics were also called to assess the driver, believed to be a man aged in his mid-thirties, for a suspected head knock in the crash.

A spokesperson said the man was assessed at the scene but was uninjured and did not need further treatment.
The road remained closed late into Monday.
The cause of the crash is unknown but investigations continue.
