A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged, accused of the armed hold-up of an Armidale service station.

The boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, was arrested by Armidale detectives at 8am on Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after the robbery at the BP in the CBD.
The teen is accused of being armed with a knife when he entered the service station, on the corner of Marsh and Dumaresq Streets, about 2pm on Tuesday.
Detectives allege he stole lollies and drinks after threatening the attendant and fleeing the scene.
Detectives pored over CCTV footage of the hold-up and spoke to witnesses before homing in on the teenage suspect.

He was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon and appeared in an out-of-sessions bail hearing in Armidale Children's Court on Wednesday afternoon.
The teenager lodged a bid for release but it was refused by the court, who ordered him to remain in custody.
The case was adjourned until Thursday, where the boy will appear before a magistrate.
Police said investigations into a second suspect, believed to be connected to the offence, are continuing.
