What do you do for a living?
I'm a self employed artist manager. I represent Queensland and NSW talent in music and art. I'm also a student at Australian Institute of Professional Counselling (AIPC).
How long have you lived in the New England electorate?
I grew up in this area, Wallangarra. I decided after travelling around in a motor-home for 12 months that it was time to find myself a home and I did. I love Glen Innes, it's small, quiet and the people are wonderful. My folks are from this area.I'm from this area so in 2016 I returned home.
What is the best part of living in the New England electorate?
Like I said, the people, the land and the pace. We have a beautiful country even when she is challenged. Country folk are good people. We're happy and we take it a day at a time. We share our good times and pull together through the bad. We never back down and that is our strength. New England has some of the best destinations to visit even for a day. It's just a shame to see New England suffering. She needs water. All our country does.
Why are you running for the federal seat of New England?
We are in a mess. There's no denying that and it's simple really: I want to help our people. The United Australia Party's policies can do just that. That is why I became a member of the UAP. We believe in this country and we believe in Australians. Our farmers, grain growers, sheep herders, nurses, teachers and our pensioners: we all are struggling. I will deliver practical solutions for our electorate. It's time to put our people and communities first.
Why are you qualified to be the elected member for New England?
I have been a voter for 40 years. That in itself makes me qualified. I have a wealth of life experience and I am committed. Committed to doing the right thing. This is my country and I want the best for all Australians. I consider it a great privilege and honour to serve the people of New England.
In your opinion, what are the most pressing issues facing the New England electorate?
Some of the most pressing issues for our communities are water and fodder. Our farmers are crying out for real financial aid to get them through this drought. They can't afford loans and it is up to all elected officials to understand just how dire the circumstances are for our farming communities. Power prices are skyrocketing and our pensioners are suffering. At the end of the day the New England electorate needs water security, they need more dams.
What is your message to the voters?
Just hang in there because the UAP will be implementing changes that this country has yet to experience. Australians will be put first. The people will have what they need to grow their businesses, to farm their farms and to grow their crops and grains. Farmers, growers, herders and cattlemen will have immediate access to the Australia Fund in times of crisis. More money through tax reform will be going into everyone's pockets to offset financial distress and most importantly our water resources will never be mismanaged or compromised again.
