The 7am Gipps Street service also proved as popular as always with local residents.
Rotary Club of west Tamworth president Richard Chaffey led the service, reverend Gus Batley did the prayers and scripture and third generation servicemen Major Wayne Clarke of the Hunter River Lancers gave the Anzac Day address.
Kootingal also paid tribute to servicemen and women with their service.
Acting Tamworth mayor and proud Kootingal resident Phil Betts presided over the ceremony.
"It grows every year, and it's good to see all the young children and students participating to keep the tradition alive," Cr Betts said.
The march down Peel Street was as popular as ever but one resident seemed to stand out.
Ethel Clegg walked alone in her last Anzac Day parade with a sprig of rosemary held tight in her left hand and another pinned over her heart.
Then following the march, there was barely a seat spare in Tamworth Town Hall at the official memorial service.
The Anzac memorial service in Manilla was focused on one particular battle this year.
Finally, like happens most years, many a punter finished the day off with a bit of two-up.
