Just over 50 lady golfers hit the Tamworth Golf Course on Thursday for the first event of the Tamworth Golf Club's big Easter tournament.

Around 200 golfers will take to the fairways over a packed four days of events, the feature of which will be the Easter Open.
Played over 36 holes Saturday and Sunday, the NSW Vardon Trophy event has drawn a field of 40.
Among them will be 2017 champion Logan Toms.
Multiple club champion David Hamilton, who was runner-up to Toms two years ago, and current club champion Tom Gill, will head the local charge.

A ladies 18-hole stableford, and men's two-man team and individual stableford will run alongside the opening round of the 18-hole stroke Vardon event on Saturday.
The tournament wraps up on Sunday with the second round of the vardon event and an 18-hole stableford medley.
