THE recently re-elected Kevin Anderson remained tight-lipped on his chances of getting a promotion, as state government prepares to announce its new-look leadership team.

National media outlets have reported the Tamworth MP is in line for a ministerial position, however he refused to fuel the rumours, saying that was a matter for the National Party executives to decide.
"I'm just happy to be re-elected and serve the good people of the Tamworth community," Mr Anderson said.
"Whatever happens after that is a matter for others."
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall, who drew the most votes of any politician in the state, is also in line for a promotion.
Mr Marshall already has ministerial experience, holding the tourism and major events portfolio for more than two years.

Gunnedah's Sarah Mitchell was voted to lead the NSW Nationals in the Upper House, the first female to be elected to the position.
"I'm so proud to be the first female elected as leader in the Upper House and I truly believe this will be a ground-breaking term in government for the Nationals," Ms Mitchell said.
John Barilaro was unanimously re-elected as party leader and will continue serving as Deputy Premier.
Dubbo MP Paul Toole was elected as deputy party leader, following Niall Blair's decision to return to the backbench.
The government's new look frontbench is expected to be announced over the weekend, with the official swearing in early next week.
Mr Anderson has recently served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Roads and Rail, however whether he holds that position remains to be seen.
"That all becomes part of the reshuffle," Mr Anderson said.
"At the moment I'm just the proud Member for Tamworth, and I'm looking forward to getting on with the job."
