POLICE are hunting three men who assaulted a woman and tried to rob her hotel in Yetman, near Inverell.

Investigators made a public appeal for help on Monday after the attempted armed robbery shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday.
The three men were armed with weapons and confronted the 49-year-old employee outside the hotel on Warialda Street.
The trio then assaulted the woman and demanded cash but fled empty-handed, a short time later.
Police are yet to say what weapons the offenders were armed with but they were last seen fleeing along Dight Street in a red Holden Commodore.

Police were called but the woman did not suffer any physical injuries.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who might have seen the Commodore, or who might have been in or around the area and has dash cam footage of the car.
The three offenders are described as having a slim build and wearing face coverings.
