It’s time for one of Tamworth’s favourite events, when the Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree is held on Thursday night.
Fitzroy Plaza will be the venue for the lighting, live music, market stalls and children’s activities from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Kids can also line up to tell special guest – Santa himself – about their Christmas wishes.
The event will also host the culmination of Tamworth Business Chamber’s Shop Local, Support Local competition at 6.30pm, after which someone will be driving home in a new Honda Jazz.
Fitzroy Street between Peel Street and Kable Avenue will be closed to traffic from 12.30pm to 9pm on Thursday, to allow for the event to be set-up and pulled down.
The revamped precinct hosted the event for the first time last year.
