THURSDAY
POLICE are still appealing for help to track down a missing man from Tamworth.
Russell John Cowin disappeared on Monday morning after leaving his house without explanation.
On Thursday, police said despite contrary reports, Mr Cowin had not been located.
Officers are making a number of inquiries as to his whereabouts and have asked for anyone with information on his location to come forward.
Police said there were unofficial reports earlier in the week that a red Holden ute, which could be similar to the one Mr Cowin is believed to be travelling in, was sighted in Boggabri and Narrabri.
Police are investigating whether he may have left the local area and are appealing for public help.
MONDAY
POLICE said they hold serious concerns for a man reported missing from Tamworth.
Russell John Cowin was last seen his family home in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police have been told the 56-year-old left the house without any explanation.
It’s believed he could be travelling in a 2016 red Holden Maloo ute, bearing NSW number plates, DMG-63Z.
On Monday, police issued a public appeal for help to find Mr Cowin with unconfirmed reports a Maloo was spotted driving into Narrabri earlier that day.
“Police hold concerns for his welfare, as this is out of character and due to the nature of the disappearance,” an Oxley police spokesperson said.
