ONE man will front court and police expect to charge others after a scuffle outside a Tamworth hotel at the weekend.

The 23-year-old Hillvue man is accused of four charges including assaulting police during a confrontation outside the Imperial Hotel, off Brisbane Street.
On Monday, police said they were reviewing CCTV footage of the incident outside the gates of the hotel on the footpath after the scuffle broke out about 2am on Sunday morning.
Oxley Chief Inspector Phil O’Reilly told The Leader officers were called after the man was allegedly threatening violence and behaving offensively.
Further investigations are continuing into other persons at the scene with further police action anticipated.

“Whilst being moved from the area by police and security, it’s alleged the male made threats of violence towards police and assaulted a police officer before he was arrested,” he said.
“Further investigations are continuing into other persons at the scene with further police action anticipated.”

The officer was not injured and the man was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with offensive behaviour, affray and assaulting and resisting police.
Inspector O’Reilly said investigations into the incident are continuing.
