To celebrate 130 years since Tamworth flicked the switch on the first electric street lights in the country the Regional Gallery is hosting an exhibition showcasing the best of local artists.

The exhibition will “explore the City of Light theme and pay homage to Tamworth’s rich history of illuminating the night” according to director Bridget Guthrie.

“We invited 15 artists to be part of the exhibition and we’ve been really impressed with their interpretations of the City of Light theme,” she said.

While Tamworth artist Josh Chaffey’s artwork ‘Constellation: Walsh’s Web’ will be a permanent feature of the gallery, other artists include Angus Nivison, David Darcy, Debra Dawes, Gemma King and Hanna Kay to name a few.
The exhibition is open October 20 to November 25.
