Jesus Christ Superstar
When Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar exploded onto the stage in 1971, it changed the world of musical theatre forever.
Now see this powerful and poignant show, produced locally by Tamworth Musical Society, when it takes centre stage at Capitol Theatre, opening October 26 and running through to November 10.
Directed by Ben Mettam and accompanied by his young and vibrant production team, this production will be a rock musical not to be missed. An equally talented and enthusiastic cast has been working hard for the last three months perfecting this difficult score that tells “the greatest story ever told”.
Based on Jesus’s life, the plot highlights the political and personal struggles between Jesus and Judas and Christ’s final days are dramatised with emotional intensity and explosive theatricality.
Tamworth Musical Society, who in 2018 celebrate 130 years of bringing musical theatre to the city, are proud to present this “made in Tamworth” production.
Big Bad Wolf
Big Bad Wolf is a modern fairytale of friendship that explores what it’s like to be misunderstood and a little bit different.
Wolfy may look scary, but he’s really just a poem-writing vegematarian. He’s all alone in the world because of how he looks and sounds, and because of what everyone thinks he is – a big bad wolf.
It’s only when the irrepressible Heidi Hood appears that someone thinks twice and starts to see him for who he really is. Big Bad Wolf is joyful, funny and full of quirky characters.
Since its 2013 premiere in Adelaide, Big Bad Wolf has been presented across Australia and the world, including seasons in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and a major North American tour in 2016. Now you can experience the magic of live children’s theatre at TRECC with this wonderful production by Windmill Theatre Company and presented by Jump Up Trampoline Zone on Thursday, October 18 at 6pm and Friday, October 29 at 10.30am and 12.30pm.
