The Currabubula foursome qualified in the Norm and Elizabeth Austin Relay on the back of a near-record breaking run at the North West Athletics Carnival on Friday.
Isobel Bonner, Tony Golledge, Phebe MacNamara and Tommy Golledge combined to set a blistering time of 59 seconds to qualify for the state event in Sydney.
That wasn’t the only success for Currabubula at the North West carnival, though.
Phebe showed her strength to qualify for state in shot put and long jump before displaying a clean set of heels to qualify in the 100-metre and 200-metre sprint events.
The Currabubula students put in plenty of hours on the training paddock.
Tony threw an amazing 10.25 metres to place first in shot put while Tommy finished his 100-metre event in third place.
The Currabubula students put in plenty of hours on the training paddock in the lead up to the North West carnival.
They trained during and after school as well as on weekends.
The students will continue to do so in preparation for the state carnival which is something they are all incredibly excited about.
