ART meets the public at the Kootingal Lions Club art show and exhibition sale.
At headquarters, art coordinator Janelle Lewis is busy collecting beautiful works from across the nation for the second annual show.
“It’s a tremendous thing for our community, we’re so pleased to be able to do it – we’ve had lots of support from local businesses for the show which I think is marvelous,” Ms Lewis said.
“To organise something like this it takes patience, a little angst and knowledge of the art world and the kinds of works you’d expect to find in the community so you can be appreciative of the variety.”
This is the second art show the group has ever held, and is supported by the Moonbi Art Group.
Member Lee Rodger is an artist herself, and will be exhibiting at the art show.
“Our expectation is that it will be bigger and better, the quality of the artwork I imagine will be even better because even it it’s the same artists contributing I imagine they will have improved over the year,” she said.
“Sometimes for an artist the development is to go and see what other people are doing, the wow factor from other people’s stuff, you might think you can never do anything and then you’re inspired to try.
