For those who read our local Leader, they will be aware of my concern at the neglect of our CBD by some of our business outlets.
On June 24th., for the umpteenth time, I wrote to Council on this matter and, mentioned the name of a particular business outlet which continues to disregard the need for an acceptable standard of shop frontage presentation.
As I have had no response from Council, yesterday whilst in the CBD I spoke with the staff of the said premises re the concerning state of their presentation at street frontage.
I was advised by the staff member that their CLEANER advises them that they are responsible only for the cleaning of the glass section of the frontage, not the surrounding tiled or painted portions of the premises?
It is well and truly overdue that our Council takes definitive action in having these delinquent/disinterested business premises occupants meet an acceptable standard of presentation within our Central Business area.
I would like to mention that the presentation of our CBD has improved considerably in the last year, with the paving having at last been cleaned to a more acceptable standard-thank you TRC.
