Doolan scored four of Waratahs’ six goals and was a constant threat in midfield.
“She was rolling through the midfield with plenty of space and getting a good shot away, which was pleasing. She’s struggled to score goals recently,” Waratahs coach Josh Worpel said.
Worpel felt like they were fairly dominant.
“We had our chances and we took them, which was pleasing,” he said.
He was also really pleased with their scrambling defence and ball movement.
“We had a couple of second graders filling in in the midfield. They moved the ball really well when they had the ball and they created space,” he said.
Missing virtually their whole striker line, he threw Tahlia Rekunow up front. She was really good for them there, scoring a goal.
At the other end the ‘back group’ – Hayley Lennon, Bella Cameron and Tayla King – were strong again.
Meanwhile, Flames put everything together in their second half against Olympians to run away with a 10-0 win.
“We just had a good game, it’s nice when things come together,” Pritchard said.
“We do have some good players and when they pass the ball around, they can be quite dangerous.
“Some of the goals were very pleasing to see as a coach because they used the pass rather than try and run.”
Flames led 3-0 at half-time before turning it on in the second stanza.
Kim Resch topped the scoring with three goals while Naomi Spark, Tegan Smith and Julie Rodda scored doubles.
Marley Pitt claimed the other goal for Flames.
