Local brother-and-sister duo Opal and Cooper Wright got creative these school holidays, setting up a cupcake stall at the front of their home in an effort to help local farmers affected by drought.

With brownies to lemon cupcakes on offer, the pair constructed a shopfront from wooden pallets found in the backyard.
Cooper told The Leader that “many people who have been buying the cupcakes say, ‘Just keep the change’”.

“I love baking and we just wanted to help those in need,” Opal said.
When Tamworth business Lloyd Sign Co found out the pair were holding a stall, they kindly donated signage which could be seen all the way along Brisbane Street.
The kids were out the front of their home from the early hours in the morning and said they would go until everything was sold out.
“We know it’s only a little idea, but hopefully it goes a long way for the farmers,” Opal said.
