Hume Fogg Academic High School student Alexia Turbeville is one of seven in Australia as part of the Sister City exchange program.
“I love travel, so I thought ‘why not Australia?’” she said.
“We went horseback riding and it was really beautiful, I know you guys are in a drought but it was still beautiful – everywhere I looked there were hills and it was really peaceful, while Nashville is really busy.”

Each student is being hosted by a Tamworth family, experiencing local cuisine and culture.
On Monday they visited Tamworth Regional Gallery for an art workshop.
Exchange coordinator Lisa Davies said it was great to bring the students to another city that celebrates country music as much as Nashville.
The students head to Sydney for a few days on Wednesday.
