Acting mayor Helen Tickle said one of the council’s main priorities went unaddressed, with no cash pledged for key infrastructure projects, including an upgrade of Goonoo Goonoo Road between Calala Lane and Greg Norman Drive
“There is no new money for Tamworth Regional Council infrastructure,” Cr Tickle said. “It is disappointing for the community, we are a growing regional centre and we need support in developing our infrastructure.”

Cr Tickle said the tax break for low and middle-income earners would be welcome relief for many in the region and also welcomed the commitment to improving aged care.
The acting mayor was pleased to hear $75 million had been retained for the expansion of Dungowan Dam.
Council has requested an independent review of the project’s cost after state government revealed it could be a $400 million build to add 22 gigalites to its capacity.
