A MAN has been granted bail in court charged with robbing a teenage girl in the Tamworth CBD in the early hours of Sunday.

William Brown, 26, appeared in Tamworth Local Court on Tuesday charged with one count of robbery.
Oxley Acting Inspector Geoff Sharpe said police had cause to stop a vehicle on Sunday before Brown was arrested after a community tip-off a day later.
Information had been received and as a result detectives and the police dog squad attended a service station on Goonoo Goonoo Road at 1.30pm on Monday where a 26-year-old man was arrested.

On Tuesday, magistrate Julie Soars granted Brown conditional bail to report to police three-times-a-week, live at a Tamworth address under a curfew and not to leave unless in the company of a nominated individual.
He’s also prohibited from drinking alcohol, taking drugs, must comply with court ordered conditions and post $500 in surety.
He will return to court later this month.
