POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was robbed in Tamworth in the early hours of the morning.

The 19-year-old was confronted by a man as she walked along Peel Street, between Bourke and Darling Streets, about 1.30am on Sunday.
The man grabbed her by the shirt and forcibly removed her wallet she was carrying at the time, police said.
The offender fled on foot, running along Peel Street, towards Darling Street.
Police have been told the woman was waiting for a taxi when the robbery occurred, but she wasn’t physically injured.
Detectives have taken charge of the investigation and are reviewing CCTV from nearby businesses.
They’re also appealing for any witnesses to come forward who might have seen a man acting suspiciously at the time or who witnessed the robbery.
